The intersection of Co. Rd. 451 and Co. Rd. 634, and head west on Co. Rd. 634 for 4.7 miles. Note: after 3.3 miles, Co. Rd. 634 bends to the left (south) at a poorly marked intersection.) After 4.7 miles from Co. Rd. 451, the east-west Lake Emma Grade begins. At 0.5 miles after the start of the grade, there is a two-track off to the right (north). This is on state land. It is recommended that if
Travel slowly along the Lake Emma Grade, searching each side of the road for marsh birds. Soras, a rare Least Bittern, and Sedge Wrens have been recorded here.
Note this is not located on Lake Emma; the old road grade crosses the southern end of Sportsman’s Lake and its associated marshland.
