Saturday, September 12, the community will gather for Band Together to Fight Cancer, a benefit concert at the Alpena Antique Tractor & Steam Engine Club. The evening will feature one of northern Michigan’s favorite classic rock bands, Jedi Mind Trip, performing hits from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Guests can also enjoy food, a silent auction, and an evening dedicated to hope, friendship, and community.
But this event is about much more than music.
It is about reminding one family that they are not walking this road alone.
Cancer has touched nearly every family in our community. It doesn’t care about age, occupation, or background. According to the American Cancer Society, nearly 2 million Americans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year, and millions more family members will become caregivers, advocates, and sources of strength for someone they love.
