Standish Nature Preserve
Nature Preserve
The Standish Nature Preserve is one of the oldest preserves owned by the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy. Purchased in 2003, this 24.75-acre parcel is located in an irregularly shaped parcel of wooded coastal wetlands. The preserve features a one-half-mile hiking trail that follows the wetland, which is dense with mature trees. Standish provides a great spot for birding, with a small pond surrounded by dense hardwoods, all at the feet of a viewing area, just a few steps inward from the trail access on the east side of the Preserve. Recreational opportunities include hiking, wildlife observation and fishing.
